HEIC to JPG Converter

Turn iPhone HEIC photos into JPGs. The conversion happens on your device, so your photos are never uploaded.

Your photos stay on this device. Nothing is uploaded.

    How it works

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is the photo format iPhones use by default since iOS 11. It keeps photos small, but many websites, Windows PCs and older apps can't open it. JPG opens everywhere.

This page decodes each HEIC file with a small image decoder that runs inside your browser, draws it onto a canvas and saves it as a JPG at the quality you pick. Nothing is sent to a server, so it works for private photos and even offline once the page has loaded.

Tip: to make your iPhone save JPGs from now on, go to Settings โ†’ Camera โ†’ Formats โ†’ Most Compatible.

    Worked example

A 2.1 MB HEIC photo from an iPhone 15 becomes a JPG of about 3 to 4 MB at 90% quality, same width and height. Choose 80% for a smaller file.

    Frequently asked questions

    Are my photos uploaded?

No. The conversion runs in your browser on your own device. The photos never leave it.

Can I convert many photos at once?

Yes. Pick or drop several HEIC files, then download each JPG or use Download all.

Why is the JPG bigger than the HEIC?

HEIC compresses better than JPG, so the same photo takes more space as a JPG. Pick 80% quality for smaller files.

Does it keep the photo's location and date?

No. The JPG is a clean copy of the image without the original metadata, which is also better for privacy.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes, in any modern browser: Safari, Chrome, Edge and Firefox.
